Maritimes Piping Plover Conservation Program

Conservation Outcomes

Thanks to your support, we've achieved the following Piping Plover Conservation Program outcomes.

Since the program began in 2006, Nova Scotia's plover population has increased by 20%.

Since 2012, we've observed a 13% increase in walkers' respect of signed nesting areas on southwest Nova Scotia beaches.

Each year, we coordinate more than 1000 volunteer hours toward recovery efforts in Nova Scotia and southeastern New Brunswick.
