Registration is open for the 2019 Great Canadian Birdathon. Sign up now and you can join thousands of birders and supporters giving birds a boost! Last year’s Birdathon raised over $200,000 for conservation efforts across Canada, thanks to individuals like you.
Getting involved is easy. Simply register, ask your friends and family to support your effort, choose any day in May, and go birding. Watch our brand-new video to see how you can have fun and help birds by being part of the Birdathon.
This year, we are encouraging all Birdathon teams to step up their impact with one simple action: inviting a new birder to join their Birdathon. Not only will you have an even better time, you’ll also create the opportunity for someone new to discover a love of birds and birding. Just imagine the impact for birds if dozens of Birdathon teams across Canada each fledge a new birder!
Birds Need Our Help
Bird populations from coast to coast are facing pressures including habitat loss and degradation, introduced species, climate change impacts, and more. Birds relying on flying insects, grasslands, oceans, and coastal habitats are in particular need of urgent conservation action. Your Birdathon proceeds will support important bird conservation and research projects across Canada. Read our latest Baillie Fund update to learn about an exciting project on Canada Jays that you made possible in 2018.
