Inspired to study ecology from a young age, I pursued an undergraduate degree in biology at Carleton University and got the chance to study how agricultural chemical use affects different bird groups across Canada. For my master’s degree, also at Carleton, I specialized in animal behaviour and cognition, working very closely with Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to reveal more about how these animals make foraging decisions. After gaining valuable field work experience in landscaping, science education, and forestry, I’m grateful to once again study bird population trends and expand my skills in biostatistics.
