Blaine Lake Marsh Walk

Join Birds Canada on a guided tour of Gillies Lake near Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan! This walk is the field component of the MarshWatch webinar series, but all are welcome. Timing: Sunday, July 7th 9am – 11am – rain or shine unless severe weather looms.
Cost: Free!
Location: Meet in the parking lot of Gas Plus/Betty’s Diner in the town of Blaine Lake, 50 minutes north of Saskatoon and 1 hour southwest of Prince Albert. Carpooling is encouraged as we will be doing some roadside birding. LeeAnn will have 2 or 3 spaces in a vehicle travelling from Saskatoon, contact her to arrange.
Walk plans: After meeting at the parking lot we will drive a short distance east to view Gillies Lake, where will do a mix of roadside birding and walk some public lands.
Accessibility and location information: Roadside birding and off-trail walks mean there will be uneven ground to cover, washrooms available at the service stations in Blaine Lake.
Suggested items to bring: Binoculars, sturdy footwear, sun & bug protection, water/snacks.
We will bring: extra binoculars, a spotting scope, field guides, and enthusiasm!
