Join Birds Canada and the Westman Naturalists on a guided walk around the wetlands of the Riverbank Discovery Centre in Brandon, Manitoba! This walk is the field component of the MarshWatch webinar series, but all are welcome. If you want to learn more about the birds and amphibians in Prairie Canada, all the webinars can be viewed on the program page here.

Timing: Saturday, June 22nd 8am – 12pm (find us on the trail if you arrive later!) – rain or shine unless severe weather looms. The trail we plan to walk should take 2 hours, and depending on timing and interest we may also check out the ponds to the west of the Discovery Centre.

Cost: Free!

Location: Riverbank Discovery Centre, 545 Conservation Drive, Brandon, MB.

Walk plans: Meet near the Southeast corner of the parking lot, at the head of the Native Grass Trail. We plan to walk the Wetlands Trail and check out other small wetlands as timing and conditions allow (see map below)

Accessibility and location information: There is ample parking at the Discovery Center, and washrooms open at 8:30am. There are well-established trails and a ramp leading down to water-level.

Suggested items to bring: Binoculars, sturdy footwear, sun & bug protection, water/snacks.

We will bring: extra binoculars, a spotting scope, field guides, and enthusiasm!

Contact: LeeAnn Latremouille email skatlas@birdscanada.org or text 306-880-9027.

Registration is optional and drop-ins are welcome. Bring your friends – all are welcome!
