Birdathon is a fun, all-ages event organized annually by Birds Canada, where bird lovers of all skill levels come together to spot birds and raise funds for bird conservation across Canada.
Choose-your-own-adventure: bird solo, with family, or as part of a team—all while making a difference for birds!
Ways to Participate:
Bring a Friend on a Birding Adventure: Introduce bird-curious friends to your favourite patch or birding hotspot.
Host a “Big Sit”: Invite friends and family to join you for a “big sit”; pick one spot and see how many species visit your location.
Workplace Challenge: Eco-friendly workplaces can participate by forming a company team and offering workplace incentives for funds raised.
Take Flight:
Sign Up: Register as an individual or with a team.
Plan: Choose any day in May for your Birdathon adventure. Consider how you’ll participate.
Fundraise: Invite friends and family to support your efforts via email, social media, or word of mouth.
Get Ready: Gather birding essentials for your Birdathon, from binoculars to field guides and your favourite birding apps. If you need assistance, Birds Canada is here to help.
