Recently, Bird Studies Canada staff presented some of our latest science at the Long Point World Biosphere Reserve Foundation’s sixth Research and Conservation Conference in Simcoe, Ontario.
In 2018, Bird Studies Canada’s Great Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program (GLMMP) celebrated something remarkable: the completion of nearly a quarter-century of bird, frog, and habitat surveys by hundreds of volunteer Citizen Scientists.
World Wetlands Day is observed every February 2 in commemoration of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the global importance of these ecosystems, and to renew our commitment to protecting wetlands in Canada.
